Theresa Baldwin
The Origin
Theresa Marie Baldwin is an Arizona author, artist, and storyteller whose passion for children, kindness, and emotional resilience inspired her to create the Arizona Desert Series, including The Bravest Javelina and its sequel, A Cowboy’s Tale.

Although The Bravest Javelina was originally written in 2000, and A Cowboy’s Tale followed several years later, Theresa nearly gave up on bringing the stories to life after years of disappointment, setbacks, and negative experiences trying to find illustrators and publishers who truly understood her vision.
Heart & Inspiration
A Passion To Purpose
It was her husband, Nico, who encouraged her not to abandon the books. Through their work with MMA Youth Outreach programs and anti-bullying initiatives, he saw firsthand how deeply these stories could impact children who were struggling with bullying, low self-esteem, or feeling different.

Their work with underprivileged children, helping them build confidence, discipline, self-worth, and resilience, helped reignite Theresa’s passion for the stories and reminded her why they needed to be shared.
Arizona Roots
Written in heartfelt rhyme and set against the backdrop of the Arizona desert, Theresa’s stories combine adventure, humor, educational desert wildlife facts, and meaningful life lessons.

Her characters bring the desert to life while helping children understand important themes like bullying, self-worth, compassion, courage, forgiveness, and believing in themselves.
Stories with a Purpose
Today, Theresa’s books are more than just stories. They are tools for conversation, encouragement, and emotional growth.
Her characters are designed to help children understand that differences do not make someone weak or less valuable, and that even those who feel overlooked can become heroes.
In addition to the Arizona Desert Series, Theresa is also the author of Never Forget, a heartfelt bedtime poem originally written for her daughter in 1999. The poem later evolved into a gift book celebrating the unconditional love between a mother and child.

Through her writing, Theresa hopes to inspire children and families to lead with kindness, stand up against bullying, believe in themselves, and never lose sight of the power of love and encouragement.
